Description
An impressive and antique American coffee and tea serving set made by Meriden Silver Plate Co, United States, the second half of the 19th century, made of silver-plated pewter, and decorated with an asymmetrical design with noticeable influences of the Far East (Japan) in patterns of birds, flowers and plants, and additional initials of owner's name 'AS', includes: water heater on burner, coffee kettle, tea pot, sugar bowl, container and milk pitcher on a large matching tray. All the dishes are signed with the company's seal and numbered, the height of the dishes: 9-31 cm, the dimensions of the tray: 78X45 cm. In one of the teapots the bottom is fractured and slightly crushed inside, in the other there is a repair to the bottom, reasonable wear and patina marks.
