A musical automaton bird box A musical automaton bird box or tabatiËre, 20th century, in the manner of Karl Griesbaum, the sides decorated with lake scenes, the top decorated with a courting couple, opening to reveal a pierced gilt grille and singing bird automaton, 10cm wide 6.5cm deep 5cm high Condition Report: Video available on request. With key. Holds a tune. The bird's automation appears to be in working order; it sings and flaps its wings but it does not close at the end. No losses to the enamel but minor marks to the top. Wear to the gilt borders.
