Description
Important 5 hook minnow from F.A. Pardee of Kent, Ohio. First advertised publicly in the summer of 1900, one of the rarest of all early American minnows, finished in aluminum with a dark back and tail, and vivid red hand painted gill marks. Dating to about 1903/1904, the wood body measures just over 4" in length and is rigged with yellow glass eyes, German silver front and rear spinners, the original red glass bead spacers, and side wire through hook hangers. Condition is about Ex-, with expected wear, one hairline, tiny chip next to a front hanger, a few hook marks and age lines - in far better condition than most. Without a doubt, this is not only one of the most historically significant underwater minnows ever produced, but the large size and condition of this example is extraordinary. A rare opportunity to acquire a 120 year old museum quality classic.
