A very unusual and rare example of a CBI Carpetbagger A-2 jacket. Identified to Captain Tom Kerrigan. Information regarding Kerrigan's WWII service is scarce. However, based on what little research exists, Kerrigan appears to have served with the ATC but was noted as assisting with the AVG early in the war. The photos shown in the listing are not with this jacket, and were part of the historical research. Information will be added pending further investigation. The jacket itself is a size 42, with l blood chit on the reverse, Burma cloth blood chit installed as a right inner pocket, leather ATC patch on front, and leather shoulder insignia. Also has a pinned sterling pilot's wing above the ATC patch. A July 6th 1944 Newspaper accompanies the lot identifying Kerrigan as serving with the American Volunteer Group. The article notes that he was credited with eight Japanese Aircraft, five in one day, and 20 probables. Copy photos are included with the lot. Despite the available research, we could not validate Kerrigan to any roster associated with the AVG. Kerrigan is a bit of an anomaly as the photos show him with the AVG, the 460th Bomb group and Military Intelligence. He is noted as having ties with Congressman and House Majority Leader McCormack, and may have also had ties with the OSS and subsequently, the CIA.Size 42
