Featured in this lot is this Thense turned wooden pepper grinder circa 19th century. The pepper grinder is wonderfully and professionally crafted wooden and brass construction. The grinder is lathe turned with a plaque on the front that is hard to read but appears to be marked as follows: MSh - (cross swords) - Thense. The spindle on the top is brass with a adjustable handle. The condition of this turned wooden pepper grinder is well preserved with some deep scoring to the wood and some wear to the mouth of the grinder and some patina to the brass used on the top but otherwise shows well preserved condition. The measurements of this grinder is 16" x 3 1/4" x 3 1/4". The collective weight of this grinder is 1lbs 6oz.
