Description
A Maya Figural Whistle Mesoamerica, Late Classic, circa 600-900 AD In the Jaina style created in Northern Campeche and distributed throughout the Maya regions. Hollow tan earthenware with traces of blue pigment. The standing female wears a long robe, holds a wide-brimmed hat to her front, and has a tall sloping forehead with a plaited coiffure and headdress above. Mold-made with crisp details, whistle device at bottom of back. In very good, intact condition, minor abrasion at tip of nose.
