"Cinq-Mars or, A Conspiracy under Louis XIII", by Alfred De Vigny, translated by William Hazlitt, with drawings by Albert Pierre Dawant [1852-1923], etched by M. Eugene Gaujean [1850-1900], 13 genuine etchings on thick parchment paper with tissue guards; complete in two volumes, published by Little & Brown, Boston, first edition with "1889" on the title page and copyright. First Limited Edition of 200 numbered copies. Copy #86.

Hard boards, original antique white cloth decorated in gold (some soiling and shelf wear); 6.1/2" x 10"; three inscriptions on the front endpaper (both volumes have signature of Robert Snodgrass, gift inscription by his son, both in pencil and additional name in pen); 245 + 291 pages, with text illustrations and decorations; very thick high-quality hand-made paper, 13 genuine etchings on thick parchment paper with tissue guards; very good condition.
