Description

A classical Sheraton mahogany sofa with acanthus carving at top of scrolled arms with reeding, and having carved rosettes in the front adjacent to apron, leading to reeded front legs, circa 1820. The upholstery is not worn, but is stained on the seat and has several small tears - the right top corner has a repair where the arm meets the crest, else the frame is in good condition. Measures 75"W x 26 3/4"D x 34 1/4"H x 18" seat height. Provenance: From the Dolores Murphy estate, Clinton Corners NY.
