Description
Two Sheraton double panel wall mirrors, early 19th century, in need of some restoration. The first retains its original beveled glass mirrors flanked by rope twist double 1/2 columns below a shaped crest adorned with carved wooden acorns around perimeter of the top edge, and also decorated with applied gesso rosettes and a central seashell ornament - the mirror in original gilt gesso paint with some losses - also missing some of the acorn carvings, one of the wooden balls surrounding a rosette, and small piece of crown molding, otherwise all original and in fair to good condition - measures 46 1/8"H x 25 3/4" W; the second, with turned spool 1/2 columns flanking mirrors (which may be later replacements) beneath a shaped crest adorned with carved wooden acorns around the perimeter of the top ledge, over a central rosette ornament flanked by applied gilt gesso double dolphins - the mirror is missing its backboard, losses to the central rosette on crest, some gilt gesso losses around the frame, and molding losses on edge of top, but otherwise all original and in fair to good condition - measures 42"H x 24"W.
