A Chinese Export Porcelain Bowl and Pair of Plates
Circa 1800
the bowl monogrammed JW and decorated with birds in trees; both plates centered with depictions of hawks.
Height of bowl 4 x diameter 9 inches.
Diameter of plates 9 inches.
The monogram 'JW' on bowl is, by repute, for Major John Wood (1770-1826), commander of the sloop 'Florida I,' and his wife, Rebecca Wickham Crooke Wood (1771-1847).

Punch bowl purchased from Leon F. S. Stark Antiques, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 1962.
