An American slant front desk in cherry wood, with original French feet,fitted interior with 3 hidden drawers, dovetailed case, circa 1810. Measures 46"W x 22"D x 44"H. Condition: The rear supports for back feet appear to be a later modification, front feet all original, one cubby hole with losses to shaped apron, and the hinges attaching the drop front to the desk are later replacement. Note the very fine 19th century oval brasses, each with an embossed Peace Dove holding olive branch, are probably not original as it appears the drawers once held a Sheraton style single hole pull which is evident on the interior of drawer. Overall the desk is in very good condition.
