A beautiful portrait of an older gentleman captured with excellent clarity and sensitivity. Despite his uncombed hair, the subject conveys a sense of gentility. He wears a houndstooth cravat and in his pocket appears to be a folded document. His hands are gently folded on his lap. From a Memphis, Tennessee estate, the portrait is enhanced further by the desirable wall frame and interesting brass mat featuring architectural vignettes.
