Description
19th century; adapted as a headboard, upholstered in pleated cream-colored silk fabric and mounted with a pair of backplates 77 x 118 in. (195.6 x 299.7 cm.) Note: this lot does not include the sconces shown in the photographs. It includes only the sconce backplates.; Provenance: The Walter and Donna Conn Estate; located within the desirable estate enclave of San Marino. Designed by the renowned architect Roland E. Coate in 1929, and built for a member of the Keck family, the gated Colonial Revival home graces over an acre of meticulously manicured park-like grounds. Formerly the USC Presidential Mansion.
