Arnie Zimmerman Pink & Blue Stoneware Teapot, 1982. Sculptural postmodern Memphis style functional teapot, glazed in pink with deep blue paint flourishes throughout, with lid. Signed and dated 1982 on underside. From the estate of Arnold Zimmerman. Hudson NY based artist Arnie (Arnold) Zimmerman (1954-2021) was best known for creating ceramic sculptures that redefined ambition and scale in the field of ceramics. His work, ranging from the monumental to the miniature, from the figurative to the abstract, embodies his fearless exploration of surface, color, and form. He was an internationally renowned ceramic sculptor and his work is held in the permanent collections of many major museums, including the Metropolitan Museum, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian Institution, and so many more.
