Description
Three American Wool Jacquard Coverlets, Second-Third Quarter 19th Century. Comprising a single panel red and white coverlet with central medallion, eagle's to the corners and border with shields and architectural steeple; a single panel red and white Centennial coverlet depicting Philadelphia's 'Memorial Hall', built for the 1876 Centennial Exposition, inscribed along the borders "MEMORIAL HALL / PATENTED. AUGT 17TH 1875"; and a Pennsylvania blue, red and green coverlet by John Smith, dated 1839, inscribed along the border "JOHN.SMITH / L.HOFMAN / 1839".

Condition
Both of the red and white coverlets with extensive wear, damage, soiling, stains and losses. The red, blue and green coverlet with wear and losses throughout, lacking most fringes to one side.
