Elvis Presley Personally Owned 1970s "Elvis In Concert" Samsonite Briefcase Given to Dean Nichopoulos W/COA - This brown Samsonite briefcase affixed with eighteen Elvis in Concert Building Personnel cloth badges was used by Elvis Presley while on tour during the 1970s. As Elvis toured across the country it was essential to identify his entourage for ease of passage both backstage and in other areas restricted from the crowds of eager fans. The colors and shapes of these cloth badges changed with each performance, venue, and level of access to ensure security. This briefcase comes with a certificate of authenticity which states in part, "The brown Samsonite brief case with eighteen Elvis In Concert Building Personnel stickers attached was used by Elvis Presley and given to Dean Nichopoulos for his use while working security on Concert tours from 1974-1977." Dean Nichopoulos is the son of Dr. George Nichopoulos, who was Elvis' personal physician for the last ten years of the singer's life. The certificate of authenticity is signed by Murray Silver, who was hired by Dr. Nichopoulos in 1990 to write his authorized biography. This briefcase was given to Silver during the course of their collaboration. The letter also states that six hotel room keys, "most notably a Las Vegas Hilton hotel room key #T1861", were discovered inside the briefcase by Silver (the keys were removed by Silver).
