A 8x50mmR (Mannlicher) 'Bulgarian contract M1895' straight-pull rifle by Steyr, no. 5227G In standard service configuration, relatively good condition overall, fully-matching serial numbers, the receiver engraved with the Bulgarian coat of arms and 'Steyr 1903' to the side, the bore dull throughout 30in. barrel, Birmingham nitro proof With a Simpson & Co. Suhl 'M1895' bayonet with ÖEWG metal scabbard Footnotes: The M1895 was the final major iteration of the straight-pull system. Approximately 3½ million were produced and constituted the main service rifle of the Austro-Hungarian army throughout the first World War. The M95 was produced in three main variations; A rifle, a Stutzen and a Carbine, although throughout the first World War, multiple revisions were made to swap and change patterns between one another for differing regimental uses.
