Chinese 20th Century Republic Period, Zhang Daqian waterside landscape scroll painting. The panel hand painted with mountains, water fall, sampan boat, dense tree, lishui rivers, and elder standing on the high rocky rock. In folk religion each mountain has its own deity associated with it. Mountain is one of the eight trigrams in Feng Shui and Yi Jing. Of these Taishan is considered the most important and stones from the mountain were often placed in towns across China as a lucky charm. Calligraphy Chinese lettering inscriptions poems, followed with artist's signature and iron-red seals on the upper right side. ?It is made smartly, showing gentle and natural features.
