Monumental Napoleon III Giltwood Pier Mirror

third quarter 19th century, the arched crest decorated with a carved bust, above a swag of fruit, the ogee-molded sides carved with scrollwork, supported on an egg-and-dart-carved entablature, set with a beveled mirror plate.

In good, as found condition. Minor surface imperfections, consistent with age. There is a small section of the floral garland missing on the left side, below the female bust. Minor shrinkage separations to the joints. Appears to retain its original bevel mirror. There is some distress and loss to the silvering. Retains a very pleasing patina. The large crest is removable.
