EDMOND LOUYOT (French 1861-1920) after FRANÇOIS BOUCHER (French 1703-1770) A GERMAN EMPIRE ROCOCO REVIVAL PAINTING, "Two Putti as Allegories of Music," LORRAINE, 1899, oil on canvas, one winged blond putti reads music and sings, sitting atop a tambourine, while the brown haired putti plays the lyre, resting on a book issuing a spiral of sheet music, signed and dated L/L, "E. Louyot. 99.;" 66 1/2" x 29 1/2", framed 72" x 35". Provenance: Private Estate, Houston, Texas.
Condition
Minor surface wear, a cluster of craquelure near top to canvas, canvas lined, and minor soil, dulling of white paint and apparent age, otherwise no apparent repairs or damages.
