A SWEDISH PAINTED PINE MARRIAGE OR DOWRY CHEST, 18TH/19TH CENTURY, the teal and powder blue painted chest with rectangular lid opens to an interior fitted with two storage boxes, pointed and knopfed shaped iron straps, a rat tail latch, and centering a wrought iron circular spring grab lock with cut shield form plate, the exterior is painted with monograms and dates, "M.F. 1817 | M.W. 1837," and centers a hand cut and decorated copper escutcheon with monogram initials, "M.F.," raised on turned bun feet.
