Description
China, Qing Dynasty 1644 - 1911 but probably the earlier period. Authentic Yanyuedao meaning (reclining moon glaive) polearm is a sub-class of the Guandao glaive and an important early Chinese polearm. This example in all steel with a dragon or fish head to the base projecting the enormous long trailing back single edged blade. The characteristic back with a single spike pierced at the tip and located halfway down the back with the spike of the primary edge terminating to the end. Size 82 1/2" H, blade 15 1/2" H

Condition
Obvious signs of delamination or so called exfoliation that lend to the polearm being much earlier than other examples.
