Description
Chinese Multi-colored Glazed Jar, probably Tang Dynasty (618-907), is an earthenware jar made primarily for tombs. The tri-colored glaze--green, yellow and ochre--freely flowed over the jar and contrasts to the medallions with floral motifs in relief. The decorative motifs recall motifs from Persian metal that came to China over the Silk Road during this era.
