The central deity is Avalokitesvara, the Bodhisattva of wisdom and compassion. The multi-armed deity holds a book, symbol of wisdom; lotus blossom, symbol of purity and Polychrome on canvas of a seated deity on a lotus throne, ca. 19th or earlier. Matted and framed under glass, sight size apprx 21-1/4" x 16". Overall framed apprx 30-1/4" x 24". From the collection of Juliane and Philip Lynch, Shaker Heights, Ohio.
