Neale & Co. English Creamware Cake Basket and 19 Desert Plates, c.1789, comprising an oval cake basket with molded basket weave pattern to the rim and a ribbon border with hand painted green feathered decoration. The cake basket stamped Neale & Co.
Dimensions: 10.25 x 8.5 in cake basket, 8 in. dia. plates.
Condition: Varying degrees of glaze wear and loss to the green glaze, 2 plates with chip to ribbon border, some plates crazed and stained, 1 plate with break at border and two hairlines (one associated with break and loss) 6 plates with small chips to border underside. Cake basket with 3 brown stains to interior, some loss of green glaze, 1 small chip to underside of border.
