England, 19th century. Charles Jameson Grant was known for his work in The Political Drama (1833–1836), a series of 131 wood-engraved political satires expressing the view of the Radical movement, which attacked the Whig and Tory factions. He also produced woodcuts for several Chartist newspapers during the 1830s, although his career declined shortly thereafter. His prints are typically signed C.J. Grant or C.J.G. Offered are four pages of illustration produced by Grant's own hand.
