Jalisco Seated Female with Bowl on Back Ca. 100 B.C. - 250 A.D. Size 10 1/2 inches high. 9 1/2 inches wide. Cream-tan color pottery seated female figural vessel, carrying a large round bundle on her back; skinny arms held ni a carrying position on her shoulders, wide rimmed mouth. Red-brown painted upper body. Overall surface wear and scattered paint loss, otherwise intact. From the collection of Anne and Kirk Douglas, Los Angeles. Acquired 1953 - 1970's. To family yb descent.
