An impressive Chippendale camelback mahogany sofa with red damask upholstery, possibly 18th century and later

With arched backrest, scrolled arms, on straight legs with stretchers.

Condition
lot 60: presents nicely; frame / legs do have age, and appears to have replaced support blocking to underside, although some blocking appears to have been replaced a long time ago; the seat also rebuilt, with contemporary wood frame structure and webbing, etc.; the underside is mostly visible- does not have dust cover; very nicely upholstered, the fabric in great condition overall with light wear commensurate with use, and mostly clean (only a couple minor stains); the brass nail heads / studs are professionally installed, the ones along the arms are minimally invasive in the way they are installed (glued instead of nailed); a few brass studs / nail heads are missing to front left-facing arm the legs generally with repaired breaks, some re-pinned joints, and some patches / plugged holes evident, possibly originally had corner brackets; the bottoms of the legs with some evidence of water staining / exposure; accession number is painted to two legs; cushion is down-filled; frame under upholstery not inspected
