Provenance
The bust of Mercury with impressed plaque to front, "MERCURY," mounted to socle, the bust and socle both marked, "Wedgwood" and "Made in England"; the bust of Minerva impressed to back, "MINERVA," the bust mounted to socle, the bust and socle both marked, "Wedgwood."
H: 17 ½ in. W: 10 ¼ in. D: 8 in. (Minerva), H: 19 ¼ in. W: 11 in. D: 10 in. (Mercury)

Condition
lot 160: Mercury: with old shallow chip to tip of right-facing wing, and chip to lower left front corner of base (just above plinth), minor occasional scuffs or scratches, but overall the surface is nicely even and consistent throughout, slightly loose from plinth- might need tightening to the screw to underside; Minerva: small knick / chip to back left-facing back corner edge, some minor scuffs and scrapes, also with one area of finish loss / inconsistency under back side, but otherwise the surface remains consistent overall
