Description

A striking French 19th century Louis XVI st. ormolu bronze bust of Diana the Huntress, signed Houdon and Susse Frères. The bust is raised by a striking circular base with a richly chased wrap around berried laurel band and a bronze socle pedestal, with decorative flutes. The beautiful Diana wears the bronze strap of her quiver across her chest and displays a lovely facial expression. Her hair is tied in an updo accented with a half crescent moon. Measures 23" tall.
