Exceptional French antique diminutive walnut and kingswood three drawer bombe commode, set with elaborate gilt bronze ormolu mounts of acanthus and foliate designs, set on top with formed Breche d'Alep marble, marked on back Maison Roll, Irenee, Maugras et Cie, Ameublements Paris, 42, Faubourg Saint-Antoine. Circa Paris fourth quarter 19th century, Joseph Roll started his furniture company at 42 Faubourg Saint-Antoine in 1844 and continued until his death in 1877, his widow continued the business for a few years but sold the business to other interests becoming Maison Roll, the company was known for its exceptional quality and workmanship, supplying pieces to the collection of Napoleon III. 17 deep x 32 W x 36 inches H
