BIOGRAPHY:
Wright studied art as a child and later at the Doon School of Fine Art in Ontario. She moved to the Caribbean in 1964 and established a studio gallery in the heart of St. John's. Wright produced commissions for several hotels, painted backdrops for Antigua's Carnival and completed a mural for NASA which is now in the USA. She was a founding member of the Antigua's Artists Society and served as President for four years. Wright taught art classes, wrote an art column for a local newspaper and influenced many local artists including Cadman Mathias and Euston Tongue. She established a second studio gallery in Monserrat where she worked for three years before assisting the Government of Antigua in establishing the first National Arts Exhibition. In 1976 her work was featured in North Light Magazine. She moved back to Canada in 1982. Wright is known for her early landscape works in oil.
