Description
A Chinese Hu Form Gilt Ground Blue and White Famille Rose Porcelain Vase, Yongzheng Mark and Possibly of the Period. Well potted Hu form vase of pear shaped body, applied to the shoulders with a pair of stylized dragons. The gilt ground decorated with flying cranes symbolize longevity among colorful lingzhi form clouds, the body with two large circular reserve panels depicting landscape in spring scene on one side and winter scene on revise side. The neck painted in blue and white glazed outlines with bands of Ruyi pendants, Liwan and Shou characters. The foot rim decorated with blue and white glazed lotus flowers and scrolls. The recessed base covered with turquoise enamel and bearing a four character apocryphal Yongzheng Nianzhi mark. {Height approximately 15 inches (38.1 cm)}. Provenance: From the SF Bay Area private collection, with an appraisal note by the 'Chingwah Lee Studio of Orientalia', San Francisco, California. Condition: Wear, gilt losses.
