Description
A Renaissance Revival Marble Mantel Clock, George W. Smith & Co., Philadelphia, Fourth Quarter 19th Century. The case decorated with panels depicting Classical figures in low relief. The circular black slate dial having Arabic numerals, inscribed to the center 'Geo. W. Smith & Co. / Philadelphia', the twin train movement striking on a gong, the backplate and pendulum each numbered '5377'.
Dimensions:Â Height 18 1/4in; width 11 1/4in; depth 7in.
Provenance: Property from a New Jersey Estate.
Condition
The case with scattered chips, fleabites and small losses overall. The meta mounts with heavy toning, darkening and discolorations throughout. At the time the condition report was conducted, the clock was maintaining power. With winding key. We cannot guarantee the completeness or functionality of the clock's movement.
