Two Overshot Woven Coverlets

American, 19th century, cotton and wool, the first with multiple joined panels of natural cotton woven with brown and light red wool in an overshot design forming a "plaid" with squares of brown and clusters of pink rosettes joined by a lattice of brown and pink lines, top and bottom edge hemmed, no fringe (discoloration and fading, staining, wear, areas of wool loss, especially to edges) (6 ft. 10 in. x 7 ft. 6 in.); The second with two joined panels of an "optic" design of curvilinear lines of dark green and horizontal red stripes, with green and red fringe to two sides, cotton fringe along bottom edge, hemmed top edge (wear, small areas of loss to wool, staining, loss to cotton fringe, discoloration) (5 ft. 8 in. x 6 ft. 9 in.); This lot accompanied by a fragment of overshot weave fabric with squares of red ovals alternating with stripes of green (unfinished edges, irregular shape, significant wear, frayiing and loss, holes) (about 35 x 46 in.), and an antique coiled wire rug beater.
