Description
Ancient Egypt, Third Intermediate Period, 21st to 22nd Dynasty, ca. 1070 to 720 BCE. A mold-formed pottery ushabti standing in mummiform with black-painted agricultural implements held in arms crossed atop the chest. The protruding face is decorated with black brows, almond eyes, and a slender fillet tied around the back, and a rectangular seed bag is painted along the verso. Inscribed down the white-ground figure is a black column of hieroglyphs that, when translated, reads, "The illuminated one, the Osiris, Ankhefenkhonsu." Size: 1.16" L x 1.53" W x 3.95" H (2.9 cm x 3.9 cm x 10 cm); 5.05" H (12.8 cm) on included custom stand.

Condition
Minor nicks and abrasions, with fading to pigment commensurate with age, and softening to some finer details, otherwise intact and excellent. Great preservation to hieroglyphs. Old museum numbers handwritten on back.
