Description:A pair of Santa candle huggers by NAPCO of Japan made in 1957.

A lightweight ceramic has been molded into the shape of a Santa Claus pair with arms reaching out to hug candle tapers. One Santa has a candy cane while the other Santa has a package. They have been hand painted at the factory in bright Christmas colors.

Both Santas have a silver foil NAPCO sticker with the words MADE IN JAPAN, a copywrite symbol and the words ?National Potteries Co CLEVELAND O?. The bases of both Santas are also stamped in black with the words ?NAPCO 1957 3BX246?. Some of the letters on one Santa are not fully legible.

CONDITION

The bottom of the candy cane has broken off on one of the Santas. A tiny bit of black paint has worn from the other Santa’s boot. Both Santas have a few tiny manufacture flaws, such as imperfection in the painting and bumps. Otherwise, they look fresh and bright. Great for 60+ year old candle huggers!
