This stunning piece was worn by the cast of AIDA at a La Scala, Milan, Italy Opera production, probably between the 1930s and 1960s. Made by A. CORBELLA, the foremost Italian maker of opera and theater jewelry. Very good vintage condition; some missing stones. Measures approx. 4 1/2" in diameter and can also be used as a pendant. Provenance: From the collection of the late MASSIMO COMOLI, celebrated opera set designer and architect, best known for working with the late Gianni Versace on the redesign of the iconic Villa Casa Casuarina in Miami Beach (formerly known as the Versace Mansion).
