1st item: Warren Family Bible, detailing several births of the Warren Family of Lincoln County, Tennessee in the first quarter of the 19th century, including Rev. John Bright Warren, b. 1819, d. 1896 and his siblings Selina, Brady, James, Mary and Jane. Leather bound Bible published New York: The American Bible Society (stereotyped by James Conner), 1829. 2nd item: ZION'S HYMNS, FOR THE USE OF THE ORIGINAL FREE-WILL BAPTIST CHURCH OF NORTH CAROLINA, compiled by Rufus K Hearn, Joseph S. Bell, and Jesse Randolph, for sale by Elder Daniel Davis, Pikeville, Wayne Co., NC (copyright transferred to Davis, c. 1854). Scarce antebellum Southern imprint. Tooled leather boards with gilt lettering. 3rd item: Handwritten book of recipes by Mary Maury Reid Puryear (1850-1929) of Williamson County, Tennessee. Cinderella Pudding, Strawberry Vinegar, Cucumber Catsup, J.N. Reid's Grape Wine, Tea Cakes, Cream Omelette, Brunswick Stew, and Philadelphia Ice Cream. Dated 1872. (Note: Case sold the medical bag belonging to Mary's father, Dr. William Steptoe Reid of Treelawn Plantation in our Jan. 2021 auction). Condition
All items with expected toning. 1st item: Considerable wear and cracking to original leather boards and binding; some small holes, losses and dampstaining to some pages. 2nd item: Some wear; cover coming detached, otherwise fairly good condition. 3rd item: Cover of spine missing, discoloration and some food stains to pages, some writing faded.
