This lot contains a Vintage Elsa Schiaparelli "Shocking" Perfume Bottle. Shocking” launched in 1937 and was Schiaparelli's most notable fragrance. The bottle was designed by Surrealist artist Leonor Fini and sculpted from actress Mae West's tailor's dummy. Perfumer Jean Carles created The floral fragrance. The advertisements for the scent were created by Surrealist artists Marcel Vertes and Salvador Dali. The bottle is the shape of a woman's silhouette and includes a gilt metal floral brooch. It is approx 2 1/2" x 1 3/4" x 4" and it weighs about 2.1oz. Overall vintage perfume bottle is in good used condition with some normal wear consistent with aging and use. The bottle is almost full.
