African Mask from the Kuba people of Congo. Polychrome painted decorated with applied beads running form tip of nose to chin, woven back with applied cowrie shells. This type of mask belonged to the royal family and was used for public ceremonies or during initiation rites for young boys. The mask is in good vintage condition.
