Description
1766 Charlesville Revolutionary war musket with bayonet. The US surcharge on the lock plate. It also has the initials IN branded in the stock which is the mark for John Nicholson. He was an American arms inspector. In addition on the other side of the stock it has a V with a star over it which was the mark for the Philadelphia arms depot. The bayonet is not original but is age appropriate. Musket: L 58 - 1/2" barrel . 45". Bayonet: L 17". L (overall) 75-1/2". Collection of Chris and Elaina Wieser. Provenance: Benting and Jarvis Antiques. Condition: Excellent condition with imperfections consistent with age and use.
