Native American, First Nations / Canadian, Inuit, ca. 20th century CE. Signed in syllabics on underside of proper left foot and inscribed with possible disc number "4922-2" on underside of right. A wonderful stone sculpture of an Inuit carrying a dead seal on his back as he strides forward. Hooded with a fur ruff, he slings the seal's tail over his right shoulder, while supporting its fin and head with his left. A fascinating portrayal of daily life in the arctic! Size: 8.5" W x 11.3" H (21.6 cm x 28.7 cm)
