Late 19th century English dollhouse w/detailed and somewhat folky façade, front features tall glazed windows, faux doorway on second floor, handsome burled walnut double front door (does not open) beneath a demi-lune fanlight, imposing heavily molded pediment caps & decorative frieze of applied medallions, facade attaches to house w/hooks and when removed, exposes four spacious rooms w/stained softwood floors and hand painted wallpapers applied over older, possibly original papers. Older window treaments are comprised of linen curtains w/silk pelmets & swags, kitchen retains old brick paper on one wall, other walls are painted over, original built-in china dresser fills back wall and twelve pieces of antique treenware are glued in place, later spiral staircase connects this room to upstairs and dates to the time upstairs interior door was also replaced, several decorative pictures are glued to walls, including two antique Daguerro-type frames, electrified lights w/wooden valences added by the museum, signs of old wormwood damage. 30 1/2" w. x 19 1/2" d. x 36" h.
