Pair of Chinese Qing Dynasty Blue and White Kangxi Porcelain Hammer Bottle Vases. Potted in bottle shape vase, ovoid body, tapered gracefully toward straight short cylindrical neck, straight mouth rim, raised on ring foot base. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in white base color which contrast against blue color, depicted of emperor relaxing on the dragon throne chair and entertained by musician artist. A characteristic heaped and piled effect, the under glaze greyish-blue concentrates in certain areas, bubbling through the surface of the glaze and turning a deep blue-black. This inadvertently gave texture, energy, and shading to the design.The Under-base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark, enclosed within blue ring lines. Made in The Years Kangxi Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
