Description
(1895-1975) Soviet politician who served as Minister of Defense (1953–1955) and Premier of the Soviet Union (1955–1958) under Nikita Khrushchev, following service in the Red Army and as defense minister under Joseph Stalin. Typed D.S. 1p. legal folio, Aug. 23, 1946, sent to Bulganin by Col. VASILII EVLAMPIEVICH BELOKOSKOV regarding the potential levying of tariffs for heating the houses officers serving in the Polar region. Diagonally at middle, Bulganin writes: ‘Ask C[omrade] Khrulev A.V. If he agrees, prepare the document for the Council of Ministers. Bulganin Sept. 5, 1946’. Belokoskov (1898-1961) was a highly decorated military officer and deputy chief of the rear of the Red Army until 1942. At the time of this letter, Bulganin was deputy chief of the rear of the armed forces. A bit wrinkled with light wear to corners, otherwise very good.
