Description
A carved wooden drum likely from the Tamang or Gurung peoples. The dhyangro is a frame drum played by the jhakri or shamans of Nepal and India as well as by Tibetan Buddhist monks during ceremonial and trance ritual. The drum is wooden frame with animal hide stretched over the frame with elaborate carved wooden handle. This drum measures 28.5 x 15 x 5 inches.
Condition
Fair, overall good, one area of decay on drum head edge, still playable.
