Eugene Andriveau-Goujon (1832 - 1897). The Forest. Finely executed pencil drawing on cream colored wove paper. Signed "Eugene" and dated 1889 lower left. Artist name written on mount, lower right. Dimensions: Image size 7 5/8 x 10 3/8 inches. Framed dimensions: Approximately 18 x 20 inches. Framing: This piece has been professionally matted and framed using all new materials. ***Provenance: This watercolor is from a collection of works which comprised of numerous originals by Nicolas Joseph Kellin, Laure Kellin and a few other artists. The collection was owned previously by A.D. Cottet, Hotel de Ville. Eugene Goujon was a map publisher in Paris. He owned the firm of Andriveau-Goujon, publisher of fine pocket maps and atlases through the 19th century and often worked woth other prominent French cartographers of the time such as Brue and Levasseur. This piece has been professionally matted and framed using all new materials. This artwork is accompanied by a Gallery Certificate of Authenticity and is Guaranteed as described.
