Empire-Style Giltwood Swan Bed, 19th c., possibly Italian, after the Empress Josephine swan bed at Malmaison by Jacob Desmalter, later oval canopy mounted with carved swan, elaborate Scalamandre silk hangings, swan carved headboard, acanthus carved splayed hoof feet; together with six matching curtain panels, h. 51 in., l. 73 in., w. 53 in. Provenance: The Balean Collection, removed from Crailing Hall, Jedburgh, Scotland, Christie's Scotland Apr. 29, 1992, lot 649; Heritage Auctions, Dallas, TX, December 2020, lot 63208, Collection of Dr. Bruce Wilson, Memphis, TN.
