This is a Troy and Greenfield Railroad Hoosac Tunnel cost and plans book dated 1862. The book discusses the costs for construction of the tunnel and also has drawings and elevation plans inside. Rare piece with tears and frays on the cover and page edges, but all 24 pages are present and attached. This railroad was chartered in 1848, and ran from Greenfield, MA to the Vermont state line. It was later consolidated into the Fitchburg Railroad in 1887, and then acquired by the Boston and Maine in 1900.
